When I play out live I will often get someone who will ask me why I don't try out for the American Idol TV show?

I always respond "They discriminate against people of age".

People are always surprised to hear this and they always tell me that they thnik it's wrong.

AMERICAN IDOL

1st Verse
It’s another Friday evening.
After a couple of hours of singing.
someone in the crowd has something to say

He walks right on up to me
Tells me, just how good he thinks I am
That I should be on TV right away

American Idol he says
Is the place I oughta be
And he looks at me as if he's made my day

Well he has no idea at all
What he's just said to me
I reveal the truth, and this is what I say

For everyone who's hollered
Son, you oughta be on American Idol's stage

It’s not like I’m not unwilling,
And dont want to be appearing
But those folks don't care for people my age

So this gets me to thinking
While everyone else is drinking
Just who the hell do they think they are?

Does talent stop at 30?
Are the rest of us unworthy?
Hell, Cash recorded up until the day he died
